Total number of vacancy is 24 posts.

Age Limit – Minimum age limit for candidates is 18 years and maximum age limit for candidates is 33 years as on 1st November 2015 for the post of Town Planner posts. Age relaxation is applicable as per the government rules.

Pay Scale Details – Pay scale is INR 15600-39100/- with grade pay of INR 5400/- for Town Planner posts.

Educational Qualification – Candidates should have BE/BTECH degree in Civil engineering department or other mention department from recognized university or candidates should have equivalent qualification from recognized university for the post of Town Planner posts.

MPSC www.mpsc.gov.in Exam Pattern

Maharashtra Public Service Commission has three tests. First two tests is written exam. Third test is personal interview. In MPSC Exam two types of written test are there. First one is Preliminary examination. Candidates first attend this Preliminary written test. Selected candidates then attend the Main examination. Finally personal interview was conducted by the Maharashtra PSC

MPSC Syllabus for Preliminary examination

Preliminary exam has two compulsory papers (Paper I & Paper II). It has objective type questions. Paper I has 200 marks. Duration for this examination is 2 hours. Paper I questions paper is available in Marathi and English languages. Paper I questions are based on degree standard level. Paper II is compulsory papers. It has objective questions. Paper II has 200 marks. Duration for this examination is 2 hours. Paper II questions are also available in Marathi & English languages. Paper II questions are based on degree level/Class X/Class XII level. Total mark for preliminary examination is 400 marks. Candidate should be qualified in the Preliminary examination. Qualified candidates only allowed for the main examination.

MPSC Syllabus for Main Examination

MPSC main Examination has 6 papers. It has four general studies papers and 2 compulsory papers. Compulsory paper is Marathi and English language papers. First paper is Marathi (Compulsory) paper. Paper has descriptive type questions.  It has 100 marks. Paper II is English Paper. It is also a compulsory paper. Paper II has 100 marks. Paper II has descriptive type questions.  Paper III is General Studies Paper I. paper III has objective type questions.  This exam questions are based on history and geography subject. Paper III has 150 marks. Paper IV is a General Studies II paper. Paper IV has Objective type questions. This exam questions are based on Indian Constitution and Politicians. Paper IV has 150 Marks. Paper V is general studies III paper. Paper V has Objective type questions. These questions are based on human resource development and human rights. Paper V has 150 marks. Paper VI is a general studies IV paper. Paper VI has Objective type questions. Paper VI questions based on economics, science and technology. Paper VI has 150 marks.
Maharashtra Public Service Commission introduces negative mark also.  MPSC give cut off mark for each general studies paper. Qualifying mark is 45% mark for general category students and 40% for reserved category students.
Total mark for main examination is 800 marks. Then MPSC conducts the personal interview for qualifying candidates. Mark allotted for interview test is 100 marks.

Maharashtra Public Service Commission Eligibility Criteria

Age limit for this MPSC examination is 19 years to 33 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per the government rules. Age limit is 35 years for OBC candidates. Age limit is 38 years for SC/ST/NT candidates. No limit for attempts. Candidate should have educational qualification as needed in for the post. Most of the pot educational qualification is candidates should have graduate degree from recognized university or institute. Physical fitness is also required based on the vacancy.
